Lifeslurper resides in a big brown land called Auuustralia. Her early years remain a mystery cloaked in a veil of depression.

Age 42 Lifeslurper meets the vague but gorgeous Wobbles. “What took him so long to arrive?” She asks.

They make their way together in the world just fine, but are not fine to make a baby – not without some outside help. Enter ART and 2008 the year of 4 IVF cycles & one lousy big fat negative.

Lifeslurper is now 47 years old! Time for a baby is running out fast, so too is her sanity. Now it's 2011 - Lifeslurper & Wobbles have moved into top baby making gear. Donor Egg Cycles are the way to go, after a long pause to take stock after a glorious donor egg BFP & the subsequent loss. This year saw 2 cancelled FET cycles, & and menopause causing delays.

Where to from here? After 10 cycles Lifeslurper & Wobbles now await their WobblyBub who is due in May 2012 - actually make that...um....*sigh*...what's the point?

5 weeks 3 days

We all survived the weekend.

After a 4 am start to run and catch a plane, Wobbles was home by mid-morning. We promptly came home and laid down while I took a pessary. I quickly told Wobbles my worries before he fell asleep. I was to follow soon after, with kitties curled up between us.

What I had not wanted to tell Wobbles over the phone was that on Thursday night I had started to have odd cramping pains. Okay, I have been having crampy pains since prior to ET, and they have continued all the way through and seem strangely comforting now. But the ones that began on Thursday night were different. Distinctly to my left side and incredibly low – in the pubic region. Some stage that night on one of my frequent visits to the bathroom, I discovered the tiniest – and I mean pin-prick size – dot of blood. I was convinced a big bleed was about to begin. The questions that followed were a giveaway: Continue reading Seven Days On

The Clouds of Tomorrow

The ability to make lines appear on sticks with your own pee is quite a heady experience. Ask any infertile who has longed to have that particular skill. We have all desired at some stage the chance to see that second line appear.

Less than a week ago, I entered my second term of Magic Stick Powers. Then, even though our history of infertility bad luck seemed to be changing before our eyes, it was still a time fraught with fear and difficulties. In many ways, those feelings made it almost identical to all previous steps along the way with IVF. Tuesday I had a continued discharge, a loss of my nausea symptoms and other changes that led me to presume our almost good news was about to become more like our usual downbeat IVF news.
